    Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe Airport – Kampala

    Upon arrival at the airport, you will be warmly welcomed and be transferred by the hotel representative who will then take you to Kampala Serena Hotel (luxury facility), for an overnight stay and dinner. Meal Plan: B & B.

    Day 2: Kampala – Queen Elizabeth

    Our driver-guide picks you up from Kampala at your hotel or place of residence by 7:30 am after your early morning breakfast, and then drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will make your first stopover at the Equator crossing for photography and then continue with the visit to the Igongo Cultural Center in Biharwe, Mbarara, to learn and see the evolution of the Ankole culture.

    After lunch at Agip Motel Mbarara, you will proceed to Queen Elizabeth as you enjoy beautiful scenery, herds of long-horned Ankole cattle, tea plantations in Ishaka, rift valley escarpment, open grassland, and woodland savanna. You will then get on an evening game drive for sightseeing, which is much more rewarding en route as you drive to your lodge.

    Day 3: Queen Elizabeth National Park – Uganda Wildlife Safari Tour

    Early morning game drive along Kasenyi and Queen’s Mile makes visitors encounter elephants, buffaloes, waterbucks, warthogs, lions, Uganda kobs, crater lakes, and a variety of bird species. Return to the lodge for breakfast and lunch. After lunch, a two-hour boat trip along the famous Kazinga channel is a worthwhile opportunity to see hippos, buffaloes, elephants, and warthogs among others. This trip also gives visitors a chance to see spectacular birds.

    Day 4: Queen Elizabeth Park – Semuliki National Park

    Begin your day with a cup of African coffee, ready for the drive to Semuliki National Park north of Queen Elizabeth National Park through Fort Portal town. You will proceed to Semuliki – the home to more than 53 mammals of which 27 are large mammals. 11 species are endemic to the park including the pygmy antelopes and two flying squirrel species. It is also home to the peculiar water chevrotain, known as the ‘fanged deer’.

    Day 5: Semuliki National Park – Uganda Wildlife Safari Tour

    The morning after your breakfast is dedicated to a game drive. The park is home to forest elephants and buffaloes which are smaller versions compared to their savannah-dwelling relatives. It is also a home for over 53 mammals of which 27 are large mammals. 11 species are endemic to the park including the pygmy antelopes and two flying squirrel species. It is also home to the peculiar water chevrotain, known as the ‘fanged deer’.

    The afternoon will be for a boat ride along Lake Albert for an opportunity for birding. You will look out for Blue Swallow, White-throated Blue Swallow, Swamp Palm Bulbul, Spotted Greenbul, White-starred Robin, Lowland Akalat, Red-throated Alethe, Fire-crested Alethe and Snowy-headed Robin-Chat among others.

    Day 6: Shoebill Hunt

    Get on a morning search for the rare shoebill stock in the wildlife reserve and a visit to the famous Sempaya hot springs, Semuliki’s most famous attraction. The ‘male’ spring, known as Bintente, measures 12m in diameter and is set in a lush swampy clearing.

    The ‘female’ spring Nyasimbi, meaning ‘the female ancestors’, is a boiling geyser (103°C) that spurts bubbling water and steam up to two meters high. The steam cloud can be seen from as far as 2km away. Surrounding communities used to cook their food in these boiling pools. The afternoon is spent on relaxation and sightseeing around your lodge.

    Day 7: Semliki Wildlife Reserve – Murchison Falls

    Begin the panoramic drive north through Hoima’s verdant countryside and past traditional homesteads and farms along Albertine Rift escarpments. After lunch, you will drive to Murchison Falls National Park.

    Day 8: Murchison Falls – Uganda Wildlife Safari Tour

    Your guide will help you spot elephants, lions, cape buffaloes, Rothschild’s giraffe, hartebeest, waterbucks, oribi, bushbuck, boho reedbuck, hyena and if you are lucky, the leopard. Return to the hotel for breakfast and lunch.

    After lunch, go for a boat safari upstream the calm Victoria Nile to the base of the falls stopping just tens of meters from the ‘Devil’s Cauldron’. En route, marvel at the toothsome hippos, and crocodiles, and over this 17km stretch where you may see elephants, waterbuck, Nile crocodile, and Uganda Kob.

    This is also a zone of many bird species like the Goliath heron, Egyptian goose, pelican bee-eater, kingfisher, hornbill, cormorant, and the rare shoebill stork.

    There, you will leave the boat and start your, quite heavy, hike to the top of the falls (approximately 1 hour). See where the world’s longest river explodes violently through a narrow cleft in the rift valley escarpment to plunge into a frothing pool 43m below. Your driver/guide will be waiting for you to bring you back to the lodge.

    Day 9: Boat ride along the Nile Delta

    After your morning breakfast, you will get ready for a boat trip to the Nile Delta that takes you between 4-5hrs. This is one of the most interesting experiences in Murchison Falls National Park through the extensive papyrus delta through which the Victoria Nile flows into Lake Albert. Here again, there are plenty of animals and birds to see with an excellent chance of seeing the rare shoebill. The afternoon is spent relaxing at your Lodge.

    Day 10: Murchison Falls – Kampala

    Wake up at 6:00 am prepared to take photos of the African rising sun in the morning and enjoy an African breakfast. You will drive back to Kampala with a visit to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for a rhino trekking encounter and picnic lunch and later return to Kampala and Entebbe for your evening flight back home.
