    Kasenyi Lake Retreat & Campsite is a budget accommodation facility located in Kasese, about 25 kilometers from Katunguru gate of Queen Elizabeth National Park. The lodge directly overlooks the beautiful shores of Lake George within the park.

    It offers cozy accommodations and a nice restaurant where delicious meals are enjoyed while taking in amazing views of the wilderness and nearby Lake George.

    Rooms and amenities at Kasenyi Lake Retreat & Campsite

    Accommodation at Kasenyi Lake Retreat & Campsite is provided in form of Bandas (4 in number), and the campsite. With the latter, guests are required to bring their own tents or camping car and gear, but other facilities like toilets are provided to visitors. Some of the Bandas feature terraces and seating areas.

    The Budget Double room

    Kasenyi Lake Retreat & Campsite’s double room extends for about 18 square meters and features a private bathroom, with a toilet and shower/bath, slippers, clean towels, and toiletries. There is a seating area where guests can relax after a day of exploring the beauty of Queen Elizabeth National Park. There is also a terrace, an outdoor dining area with comfortable furniture, comfortable single beds with clean linen and mosquito net, and a clothes rack, to mention but a few.

    Tent

    The tent is about 6 square meters and features two mattresses thus accommodating two guests, clean bed linen, and a sleeping bag. Here, guests have the opportunity of having a real African wilderness experience. Also available in the Tent is a mosquito net, slippers, and a private entrance as well as a terrace.

    A number of amenities and services are provided by Kasenyi Lake Retreat & Campsite to make guests’ stay memorable. Such amenities include the restaurant where local and International cuisines are enjoyed and the bar where a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks are provided in the evenings while relaxing with friends.

    Relax around the campfire enjoying grilled freshly-caught fish while listening to the hippos grunting in the dark, in Lake George. You will also enjoy listening to the chirping birds in the nearby swamp or lakeshores. There is currently no internet access here, but private parking is provided.

    Laundry services are provided on request and are dependent on the weather because drying is by the sun.

    For more comprehensive game-viewing experiences, guests have the opportunity to drive through Queen Elizabeth National Park’s game tracks. Here you can sight lions, elephants, buffaloes, leopards, topis, and more hippos.

    The campsite area is also known for its unbeaten cycling experiences, given the open savannah plain, so, bikes can be hired from the lodge. Few accommodation facilities provide the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity of cycling through the savannah plains. Some guests are even lucky to sight Uganda Kobs, buffaloes, waterbucks, and hippos during this cycling experience.

    Visitors to Queen Elizabeth National Park always complement their visit with a gorilla trekking safari in the nearby Bwindi Forest National Park or a chimpanzee trekking expedition in Kibale National Park. Others could opt for a boat cruise on the Victoria Nile to Murchison Falls.
